I hope everyone had a great break - I know I did!
In honor of our concert being 10 days away - I'd like to open up the following question to my fellow blog-sters (AKA - you):
What do you personally (as in, not your section, not the whole chorus) feel you need to work on to make our concert a complete success? You can pick a piece, but please be specific in section and measure number. Also, specify what needs work in that area. Please remember this is about YOU not your section or any other section.
Since I posted the blog one day late (uh oh!) you get an additional day to finish it. So you have until Monday, December 8th to complete this blog at 11pm. Hooray!
Let's work hard and make our concert FAAAAABULOUS!

I need to work on breathing. I tend to take too many breaths because I run out of air too quickly. I must learn to conserve my air better!!!

I need to work on lifting my soft pallette [?] when high notes come and not sounding like a squished mouse. Squished mouse bad. Soft pallette good.
I think that I need to work on breathing less noticeably and blending with the other girls in my section.
I need to work on not going flat. I do it all the time and it annoys me. I think thats about it.
I need to work on blending a little better. That's about it, since I know most of the songs off the top of my head.
As the soloist for Blow The Candles Out, I need to work on managing where I breathe better, because as I'm the only one singing, it'll be too obvious if I breathe in on any word. And I need to figure out how to clear my throat before I sing--supporting and shaping are no problems for me. Just whatever muck is in my throat when the notes come out.
i think that i need to work on the ladedadeda song because i dont really know my part yet hopefully i get it before the concert. i also have to work on being a little louder because i know that i'm too quite (even though i try) but there arent many altos and i know that i have to step out of my comfort zone. for some songs you cant really hear the altos that much i noticed it from being sick for the last too days but i know that we can do it altos ;)
I need to work on breathing and pushing my sound out a lot more, if that makes any sense. I just feel sometimes that on the lower parts,(like in goin' to bethlehem -ik not very low but its at the bottom of my range almost) when I'm singing that song i dont feel like i'm bringing out my part enough and pushing myself hard enough...
thats all i can think of now...im tired...lol

I need to work on my breathing. But I also need to work on not going to high while singing.

I need to work on the song Going To Bethlehem because i am used singing with the sopranos that i tend to get sucked in with them, i still have to find my balance in that song where i am not low with the altos and not high with the sopranoes. I also need to work on the words of that song as well, towards the end, i tend to mess it up. I can do it, i know i can.
eed to work on making sure my pitch it treu in most of the songs... so ummm ya thats my thing just making sure i have the notes and hitting them and being not quite when im singing with the altos... i can sing lud with the tenors but i get nervous and arent as sure when im in my upper part of my range... so i get really really quiet... so ummm sheya
song of galile...grrr....ik im supposed to be specific, but throughout the whole thing i really need to get the dang pitch up. also, i need to relax more, my throat always kills after that song.

I need to work on my breathiness, and after trying out for the solo in Goin to Bethlehem, sometimes I get sucked into that instead of my part.
i think i should look at the music a little more for dida so i can stay more on key wile playing the drum
