BLOG #2 - COMMENT HERE FOR WEEK OF 11/16 - 11/23

Question for the week - please respond by 11/23 - Sunday!

If you could only listen to one GENRE of music for the rest of your life, what would it be and why? Take that one step further, and identify the one SONG you'd listen to for the rest of your life if you had to choose, and tell why. ONLY CHOOSE ONE! Hard choice huh?
(Genre is a classification - like Rock, Alternative, Country, Rap, etc.)

Have a nice week! Keep up the good work!

If I had to choose one genre - I'd have to pick late 90s alternative. (Goo Goo Dolls, Semisonic, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Everclear, etc.). It brings me back to my late high school and early college days when music was so important in my life. Now that I'm an adult (*cry cry*) I don't have nearly as much time to sit around and just enjoy music like I once did - and it's nice to remember how amazing listening to all that great music was at the time.

Favorite song of all time that I could listen to for days and days on end? So so hard to pick - but it has to be So Happy Together - by the Turtles - it's a song from the...70s I believe? It was the song a guitarist friend of mine played and sang with her dad when Mr. Flateau and I were married. Brings back very fond memories of the best day of our lives! (Besides teaching each of you every day - duh.)

If I had to choose one genre of music, it'd probably be whatever genre people classify the band Bullet for my Valentine as... As for picking one song, I don't think I could pick just one, because all of the songs I listen to mean something else for me. However, I do listen to the song "Say Goodnight" a lot.

i could not choose one song. i couldn't listen to one song for the rest of my life. i would get sick and bored. If i could have three or four then i would be fine but i don't really know what i would listen to.

if i could choose one genre, i think it would have to be rap. crazy i know but i love the beats in rap and it's always changing. i know enough of the other genres i like so i could just sing those genres no problem. i am always up to learning a new rap song.....especially if it's lil wayne!!

the one song would probably have to be I Don't Want to Miss a Thing by Aerosmith. Armageddon came out when i was still young and innocent and i just fell in love with that song. :D

I am not sure exactly what genre I would pick, I listen to different genres for different reasons. For one I listen to Rap/hip hop to dance to, and when I am in an aventurous mood or in an upbeat mood. I also listen to classical music to soothe or calm me, it really is soothing to the soul. I also listen to pop, rock, alternative, and a little bit of metal (but not that much). My tastes differ quite a bit, so if I had to choose, it would have to be hip hop and classical, because I cannot decide between the two.
As for a favorite song, it is "Come fly with me" by Frank Sinatra. Wierd huh? But I tend to also like older music too. -Maria

If I had to choose a genre i would have to choose blues. When I listen to blues it just makes me feel good. I know its blues and its kinda slow and sad but the driving guitar is so thick and powerful is the reason why I like blues. The other reason why I like blues so much is because you can't just play blues you have to feel it to get the right sound.

The song i would listen to for ever would be American Pie by Don Mclean. It is a song about just about everything in history around the 60's-early 80's. it is mostly about a plane crash that killed many musicians that had many hits.

i dont think i could chose music is a huge thing in my life. when im sad i listen to sappy songs that make me feel like maybe life isnt total crap yet when im happy i listen to upbeat music and when im angry its metal time... i listen to country rap/hiphop and rock... and even a couple diff kinds of rock though at this moment my favorite song is FAR BEHIN by the band Social Distortion because of the lyrics such as "with friends like you who needs enimies" and other such lines its true to alot of pepole in my life and its that reminder to me not to trust everyone that alot of my so called firends whould just as soon punch me than hug me

oooo dear....i'd have to say the genre would be soundtracks. as i explained to you before, scores of motion pictures, because that is what i really consider music. the one song..."Up is Down" its my favorite combination of instruments, jumps, and sequences.

Hey, Cat here. I would pick J-Pop for my genre. That's Japanese pop music for those who don't know. As for just one song? Hmm...probably "Ai no Tane" by Morning Musume.

If i had to choose one genre of music to listen too i would choose rock. i have always loved rock thats what i was brought up listening to and its not just todays rock but all rock. if i had to choose one song i dont know if i could because it would get old fast i think. if you listen to it all the time. but i might choose "believe in me" by Staind because that song means a lot to me its what brought my relationship back together and i think that that would be the song that i could listen to for the rest of my life but i would hate to have one song the rest of my life.

There's really no name for the genre I'd pick, but it'd probably be something calm and soothing. I like to relax when I listen to music.
If I had to pick one song I would pick "Getaway car" by the group Audioslave. They're an awesome group- they have insanely awesome songs and if you've never heard of them you should look them up. I loooove Audioslave!

Oh Mrs. Mina, you fool! This is just too easy for me!

The one genre I would listen to for the rest of my life would be Alternative--it is the genre that takes up the most space in my iTunes Library at present, and it's such a broad spectrum--I could listen to everything under Alternative from Plain White T's to Metro Station to Muse to Linkin Park-- and I would just never get bored of it.

The one song I could listen to forever and ever until eternity is undoubtedly Island in the Sun by Weezer. It is simply an amazing song, and it always puts me in such a great mood after I listen to it, whether or not I was having a bad day to begin with.

I guess that if I had to choose a genre it would be country, i guess. Its just something that i can listen to for a long time and not get annoyed. This might sound strange, or other people do it to, but I have my radio channeled to a country station, when I go to bed. Country music seems to help me relax. And when I wake up Mark and Danielle are on the radio, and they're very funny. ~Kim

I guess I agree with Mrs. Flateau here... mine would have to be alternative too. My favorite band is definitely Goo Goo Dolls (LOVE their albums Dizzy Up The Girl & Gutterflower) because they have such a broad spectrum. They also have such beautiful lyrics and messages to their songs... not to mention that they're all really pretty.

I've listened to this one too much already, but if I had to pick one song to listen to forever, it would be Black Balloon by (guess who) The Goo Goo Dolls. :D

If I had to listen to one genre for the rest of my life, I think I'd choose "Pop" because it has great........
Artists like Rhianna, Sean Paul, Jordin Sparks, etc. I listen to their songs all the time. I don't know how to explain it , but the sound is really cool and I feel like I'm attracted to it.
Did you know that I used to be in love with opera; I know, weird, but believe me I still like it just not as much.
If I had to listen to one song for the rest of my life, I think I would choose "One Step at a Time" by Jordin Sparks, for some reason I have that song stuck in my head ALL THE TIME!!! I wonder it it's some kind of sign - hmmmmmm
